LAKE PLACID SUMMITT –
For the 2nd year in a row, the Hawks fall short in the final few minutes of the championship game. The Talented Team BUD attack pressured goal line extended on two separate possessions in the remaining 4 minutes of the game that gave them man advantage. Two man up plays in the final minutes of the game would seal the deal for Team Bud. The championship game was an exciting one that went up and down during 60 minutes of play with The Road Hawks and Team Bud exchanging goals to tie the game until the final minutes.
Chris Nourse- attending Georgetown in the fall was the MVP – Receiving the “THAT- A -BOY HAND SHAKE”, and applause from both team Bud and his Road Hawk Team Mates. Chris, Long Pole Midfielder, ramped up 5 goals and 2 assists for the tournament weekend.
Down two defenseman due to injury in the championship game, defensemen Andrew D’Agostino, Matt Germain, Brian Clegg, and LPM Chris Nourse played their hearts out for 64 minutes with Goalies Griffin Ferrigan, and Marcus Giarrusso making crowd rising saves during the game.
Nick Zerillo and Corey Bulkin were strong at the x winning 95% of the face offs to give the Hawks offensive possessions. Nick Zerrillo and Corey both added a goal and a couple of assists each during the Championship game. Three other players added two goals each during the championship game Jack Spallone, Chris Nourse, and Mike Stagnitta.
